The text “Fault” on the SMT-400 DOES NOT indicate a fault with the SMT-400 itself.

It may be shown if your SMT-400 thermostat can not connect to your wireless Wi-Fi network or if the Smart Temp Server is temporary offline. ( Note : if thermostat is offline you can still operate it  locally)

The word “FAULT” can also be triggered from a Building management system.

You will need to Re-pair your SMT-400 thermostat with the Smart Temp APP/ Server  if you have changed Internet Service Provider, Modem or your Wi-Fi SSID. Please follow instruction on App for adding new device.

This could be caused by our server temporarily being offline for maintenance or there is no data connection on your mobile device.

Replace the 2 AA batteries  located in the top right corner of your thermostat with Alkaline type and then test your thermostat in the heating  mode.  You should hear a faint click from the thermostat when it switches on and off and the word “HEAT” should be flashing to indicate it’s in Heating.  If this fails and you do not hear click, then your thermostat is faulty, you will need contact your installer or place of purchase to arrange replacement. If you do hear a click from your thermostat and your heater doesn’t start up, then you will need to have your heater serviced by an authorized Plumber.

If you have a battery powered thermostat replace with a fresh set of Alkaline batteries. If it continues to switch off you will need to have your heater serviced by a qualified technician.

This could be caused by using non Alkaline batteries, rechargeable or lithium type batteries. Please make sure you use ALKALINE batteries in all or our battery powered thermostats.

Yes but you will require a 24V neutral connection to your thermostat . You will require a third wire or our SMT-2W5 interface module to be installed by a technician.
